ACCOUNTANT

The Accountant at the Indian Gas Agency is responsible for managing all day-to-day financial operations, including recording sales, purchases, receipts, and payments in accounting software such as Tally, and maintaining accurate general ledgers and customer/vendor sub-ledgers. Key duties include monitoring the physical inventory of LPG cylinders through regular stock reconciliations, performing monthly closing of books, and preparing financial statements like profit & loss accounts and balance sheets. The role demands strict compliance with Indian tax laws, including timely filing of GST returns (GSTR‑1, GSTR‑3B) and TDS, as well as handling invoicing, credit control, and follow‑up on overdue receivables. The accountant also reconciles bank accounts, cash, and UPI collections daily, assists in internal and statutory audits, and ensures all financial records are properly documented and maintained for regulatory purposes.

Technical Skills:

Basic to intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is mandatory.

Good typing speed (both English and local language) with high accuracy.

Familiarity with basic internet browsing and email communication.

Soft Skills: Attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and basic communication skills to coordinate with field staff and customers.
